I started watching this because it was based on the Vikings era and I am a huge Vikings (TV Series) fan. And to be honest, this anime is also one of the best. It definitely gets a place to be in my top 5 anime. I liked all the characters in this anime except King Sweyn. The animation and colours were too good. It felt refreshing to see something good after centuries. I haven't watched season 2 yet, but I am sure that this anime will not disappoint me. ~fingers crossed~
